Shopping in Windermere |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The best shopping in Windermere can be found around Queen’s Square and Lake Road , toward the Bowness end of town. The variety of shops offer everything from arts, locally made crafts and antiques to clothing, souvenirs and factory outlets. Take home some of Lake District ’s famous Kendal Mintcake, Cumberland Sausage, Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding, Hawkshead Relish, or Grasmere Gingerbread. Also stop into Lakeland Limited’s flagship store near the railway station for all of your creative cookware needs. There’s even an in-store café. Another option for locally grown and produced foods are the countless markets throughout the county, which offer fresh meats, fish, dairy, pickles, preserves, baked goods, and puddings. Though there are none in Windermere proper, there are several throughout the Lake District.
